"TO THE MICROPHONE"

There is one thing better than getting a first job in radio.

Getting a second job in radio.

This past weekend marked one year of ChicagoNow Radio. My co-host Alex Quigley and I were not the original hosts. Quigley and I started hosting the show together in late April, though he hosted it a while before I came along. Every Saturday morning, the two of us interviewed bloggers from the ChicagoNow blog network.

Many changes have occurred at WGN in the last couple of weeks. As some of you may have heard via this afternoon's Tribune story, among other changes, ChicagoNow Radio has been canceled.

My co-host and I will now host the Alex & Amy show, which will broadcast Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. except when pre-empted by broadcasts of Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Cubs or Northwestern Wildcats games.

This Saturday will be our first show under the new banner, though we will broadcast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. this weekend and begin the time transition next weekend.

Find the new show on Facebook and as @AlexandAmyShow on Twitter.
